The objective of the contract is for the refloat and recovery, lightering bulk pollutants, removal from the marine environment and deconstruction of the vessel. The Contractor must deconstruct the vessel while properly disposing of hazardous materials/pollutants. The “Black Pearl (“Vessel”) is an approximately 75 foot, landing craft that is fully submerged at Southern Arakun Island, Tofino, BC. The approximate location of the vessel is 49° 10.458' N, 125° 53.308' W. The Vessel is sitting upright on the bottom of the ocean, in approximately 30 feet of water. The wheelhouse is detached and sitting beside the Vessel, as is a log that is tied to the port side. There is approximately 300 liters of diesel onboard.
